National Sign Language Choir Celebration

Rules and Guidelines

1. Choirs are responsible for providing their own music in CD or DVD format.

2. Each choir must be ready to perform up to 4 musical scores. Each choir may mix their selections as long as the selections are ether Gospel (and/or) Praise/Worship.

3. Each performance must be in sign language (American Sign Language or Signed English)

4. The length of the total choir performance must be a maximum of 30 minutes.

5. All events are open to the public.

6. When registering, please submit the following documentation:
a) Short biography of the choir
b) Photo of the choir

7. Submission of an entry form and participation implies acceptance of all the Rules and Guidelines.

8. Choirs will be contacted one month before regarding their performance time.

9. Solo performance will be reserved for the evening service.

Accommodation and Meals

All choirs participating in the "Celebration" are responsible for travel, hotel accommodations, meals, and expenses of attending the "Celebration". A comprehensive list of hotel options in varied price ranges will be provided to all choirs.

All photographic and recording rights are vested exclusively by the organizer.



Guidelines

1. Performers are not allowed to move any sound equipment such as microphones, monitors, etc., at any time. The stage managers will do this at your request during the set-up time.

2. No additional sound equipment or lighting equipment other than what is provided will be permitted.

3. Playing in the Hallways, Sanctuary: Choir members may NOT play in the hallways or sanctuary.

4. Common Courtesy:
Unruly behavior of any kind, or playing of loud "jam boxes" is unacceptable.

5. No food or drinks will be allowed in the sanctuary . If you bring in food or drinks, we will store it for you until you depart. We will appreciate your cooperation in this area.

6. The entire performance will be within the performance area on stage. Prop storage and costume changes may take place in the choir room.

All questions regarding guidelines should be directed to the director or stage manger.
