"Little Blossoms" Kids Sunday School
Welcome to "Little Blossoms" Sunday School
A NEW Ministry has just begun at Hands In Christ Deaf Ministry and First Baptist Lavaca. Special needs such Deafness, Hard of Hearing, Autism, Epilepsy, and CP will be provided.
Through understanding the needs of many of our children this new ministry will focus on the various ways we can teach our children about the gospel.
Little Blossoms Sunday school class is also open to CODA'S (children of deaf adults) and hearing children who wish to use or be exposed to American Sign Langauge. Class will be taught using both voice and American Sign Language. Deaf families now have a choice of allowing their CODA hearing children to attend the "Little Blossoms" Sunday school classes or join the hearing classes at First Baptist Church.
If you are interested in learning more about serving alongside these kids, please contact Jill Burt. These children and their families deserve the opportunity to become involved in the church through worship and Sunday school.
This program will provide for the children already in our congregation but also serve as an opportunity for outreach towards families with disabilities. This is an opportunity for our church to provide support, care and the Word of God to these families or individuals. This program will be provided to children from 2 to 5 years of age.
It is estimated that less than 5% of the church congregations in the United States were actively ministering to people with disabilities. (Moody Press 1980) Our goal to make sure that children in the River Valley have access to the word of God. Where each child knows that they are all special in God’s eyes.
Our Sunday school is Christ-centered, and a Bible based ministry open to all children with special needs.
The gospel message of salvation through faith in Jesus Christ is meant for all people. Jesus commanded us to go into all the world and make disciples of all nations or groups of people. (Matthew 28:16-20)
There are no physical, or intellectual, barriers that can prevent God’s word from accomplishing His purposes in the hearts of those who receive it for what it is! (Isaiah 55:10-11 & 1 Thessalonians 2:13)
There's plenty of room at the cross, no matter what our abilities!
