Autobiography-Dee Mathes
I am a retired sign language interpreter (both parents are deaf), and I was an investigator for the Florida court system that represented abused children. This work was done through the Florida Guardian Ad Litem Program. I was also the director of the residential drug treatment programs in the state of Florida offering in-house service to the deaf. My life has covered many aspects that have taken me from the hills of Oklahoma to the vineyards of Sardinia, Italy. My own ranch, horses, court rooms, raising 3 sons (youngest still at home) and playing with my grandchildren. What a life it has been and there is still so much yet to see and learn. After the death of my husband of 28 years I took up the pen again and strted writing. As a young girl the poems I had written were of lost loves, teen dances and the boy down the road. Today my poetry has a wider range. Some may not enjoy my poetry and say its just fluff, but I write from my heart and should something touch you or strike a cord in your memory then I am satisfied. Poetry is a gift from one soul to another, I hope you will find one here at Touch Of Love that will touch you in some small way. Starting about 4 years ago I begin to explore the world of computers and the internet. Hesitant to turn the computer on, just knowing I would break something, I now cannot see myself without this magic box. Today I own, with my partner Rose, a web design and hosting company. I have been blessed with great friendships, a family and my faith. Thank you for visiting this page and taking the time to know a little about me. And please remember... with love all things are possible! Dee Mathes |
